Skilltrade is a leading provider of hydrographic training and courses for the hydrographic survey, dredging and offshore construction industries. Our curriculum is developed and delivered by experienced industry professionals. Recently, we became part of the Deep group.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING.
As a Sales & Business Development Specialist, you will play a key role in managing and expanding our client base. This is a unique opportunity to build the sales operation from the ground up within a small, dynamic organization. With significant autonomy and freedom to take initiative and make a direct impact. You will develop sales processes, convert leads into long-term partnerships, driving business growth and contributing to daily business support activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the sales process: From setting up a CRM system to tracking leads and reporting progress.
- Provide general business support in areas such as client communication, logistics, administrative coordination and event planning.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients across different industries, including Marine Contractors (Dredging and Offshore), Energy Operators (Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas), Educational Institutions (Universities), Government (Navy, Infrastructure Authorities) and Port Authorities.
- Prepare and present proposals and quotations from initial request to deal closure.
- Effectively communicate and promote Skilltrade’s vision as the leading training provider in the industry. Manage leads and provide regular progress reports.
- Identify new business opportunities and contribute to strategic sales initiatives.
- Travel across the globe with around 80 days of travel per year, focusing on key regions such as the Middle East, Africa and Western Europe, while also exploring other international markets.
WHO WE LOOK FOR.
- Proven experience in sales and business development, preferably in a technical or maritime industry.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and the independence to build and optimize a sales operation.
- Excellent communication and intercultural skills: Ability to navigate different cultures and build long-term relationships.
- Fluency in English and Dutch, with an additional language preferred (Arabic, French, Spanish, or Portuguese).
- Willingness to travel internationally, with a focus on the Middle East, Africa and Western Europe.
- Strong knowledge of the hydrographic, maritime, or offshore sectors.
- Excellent relationship management, networking and negotiation skills.
