YOUR ROLE.
At Deep, we’re on a mission to become a planet-proof and sustainable survey company. With the opening of our French office, Deep is taking an important step in strengthening Deep’s local presence in France.
As Sales & Business Development Manager France, you will help build Deep’s business and track record in the French market. Your focus will be on developing opportunities with local clients, ports, authorities, engineering firms, contractors and public bodies, especially in areas where Deep can make a strong impact with sustainable, innovative and high-quality survey solutions.
You will work closely with the Managing Director in France, while being supported by Deep’s commercial team in the Netherlands. Together, you will identify opportunities, build relationships, prepare proposals and help convert local market potential into successful projects.
Your priority will be to create a strong local foundation for Deep in France. You will spot local opportunities, understand client needs, coordinate input for proposals and contribute to clear and compelling offers. This means developing smaller and medium-sized projects, and Deep-Green related survey work.
For more complex, offshore, nearshore or strategic key-client opportunities, you will work in close alignment with the Commercial Director and commercial team in the Netherlands. Overall pricing strategy, contract strategy, commercial risk position and key-account ownership remain coordinated through Deep’s commercial organisation.
You will help introduce Deep’s sustainable survey approach to the French market, including low-impact and emission-free survey solutions using innovative vessels, USVs, drones and other future-proof technologies.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building something new. You know how to open doors, create trust, follow up consistently and turn conversations into concrete opportunities. You understand that building a local track record starts with the right first projects, strong delivery and long-term relationships.
WHERE.
This position follows a flexible hybrid working model as a French based location. You will work with clients across the French market and regularly collaborate with colleagues from the French office and the Dutch commercial and technical teams.
You are expected to spend time each month working alongside colleagues from both the French and Dutch teams, either from our French office in Nantes/Angers and/or our office in Amsterdam. The frequency and timing of these office days will remain flexible and will be adapted to business needs, client meetings, project activities and travel schedules. An initial induction period in Amsterdam will be part of your onboarding, so you can get to know Deep’s people, services, technologies, commercial approach and company culture. Regular travel within France is part of the role.
WHO WE LOOK FOR.
You are a commercially minded relationship builder who enjoys developing a market step by step. You are not only interested in winning large opportunities; you also understand the importance of creating a local track record through practical, well-selected projects.
You enjoy meeting clients, understanding their challenges and translating their needs into clear opportunities for Deep. You are comfortable working with ports, local authorities, engineering firms, contractors, public bodies and other stakeholders in the maritime, coastal, infrastructure or environmental domain.
You are entrepreneurial, hands-on and persistent. The Deep office in France is a new and growing organisation, so flexibility, initiative and creativity are essential. You see opportunities where others see obstacles, and you are motivated by helping build Deep’s French presence from the ground up.
You are interested in sustainable survey solutions, innovation, marine robotics, autonomous technologies and the future of survey operations. You do not need to be the deepest technical expert in every field, but you are curious, eager to learn and able to connect client questions with the right internal expertise.
WHAT WE ASK.
A commercially oriented mindset in a relevant technical or commercial field for this job. With experience in business development, sales, account management, tender coordination or commercial project development.
A strong interest in building local business in France, especially with ports, authorities, engineering firms, contractors and public-sector clients.

You have a positive attitude, a good sense of humour and enjoy contributing to an enjoyable and engaging work environment. We take our projects seriously, but we do not take ourselves too seriously.
